AI is changing how we develop digital products and how we design AI features that truly deliver value for users. During our AI Roundtable at GlobalOrange — in collaboration with Nobel Recruitment — members of the Product Leadership Community discussed the impact of AI on B2B SaaS products.

The key takeaway? AI is everywhere, but the real challenge lies in finding the right applications. Not everything gets better with AI, but when used correctly, it can add significant value.

Faster development, but UX remains crucial

The key takeaway? AI accelerates product development. From user research to prototyping — AI tools give teams a head start. However, the real value isn’t just in speed. It’s about building features that solve real user problems.

Think of structuring messy data, generating insights, and improving decision-making. But beware: AI shouldn’t be a gimmick. The user experience must remain central. AI should seamlessly integrate into the workflow, not feel like a separate chatbot in your application.

Practical use cases from the field

Product leaders shared concrete AI applications during the session:

  • Market research and TAM analysis using tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity
  • Sales call analysis with Gong, where AI structures insights from conversations
  • B2C user research and A/B testing in e-commerce, for example with Optimizely
  • Customer support automation where AI handles 80% of conversations
  • Task automation such as AI-assisted contract analysis for billions in assets

AI in production also means recognizing boundaries

A recurring theme was the limitations of AI. Product leaders noted:

  • AI models are often too optimistic — human checks remain essential
  • Not everything is suited for AI — sometimes traditional data analysis is faster, better, and cheaper
  • Automating conversations must either sound human or be clearly presented as AI to avoid the ‘uncanny valley’
