Communication platform for complex wound care
Due to poor monitoring and communication, the healing of complex wound care takes unnecessarily much longer than it should. Three TU Delft students identified these problems and wrote a prototype and a business plan, for study credit. When the students were invited by Erasmus MC to visit to see the problem for themselves, they decided to develop a communication platform for complex wound care in collaboration with GlobalOrange.

When the students were invited by Erasmus MC to visit to see the problem for themselves, they decided to develop a communication platform for complex wound care in collaboration with GlobalOrange.

Easily accessible and safe
GlobalOrange is building a low-threshold platform with BlueMed that fully and securely maps the care pathway of complex wound care on desktop and tablet. Users should be able to log in, upload photos, communicate status and communicate.
Transparent and efficient
The platform allows healthcare providers to digitally store the care pathway of a complex wound in a simple and clear way. The stored information can be shared with other healthcare providers in the care chain, as well as with the patient himself.
Disruption in healthcare
BlueMed offers a total solution for the wound care domain, where other EHR (electronic patient record) providers focus mainly on general care. Focus on this specific domain was lacking and the startup cleverly responds to this.

BlueMed was looking for a well-established company with experience in the medical world and mentoring startups. GlobalOrange has successfully completed several healthcare projects and has a strong positioning in this sector.

Doing business together
A good click immediately emerged between GlobalOrange and BlueMed. The students had the idea, which GlobalOrange saw potential in. GlobalOrange came up with the solution, in which BlueMed had a lot of confidence.

Success factors
Pilot with Erasmus MC
During the pilot of Exsudo, we will see how the platform works and what the experiences are. If the results are good and the funding for the necessary investment is in place, Exsudo will be further developed and sold to other healthcare organisations.
Winner SHC 2016
BlueMed won the Sustainable Health Challenge 2016, a competition for students and young professionals with an innovative idea for in healthcare. It further helps young, ambitious entrepreneurs to give more shape to their idea.
