JAA TO: finding and booking aviation training on mobile
From a broad course catalogue to a simple mobile booking
Joint Aviation Authorities Training Organisation (JAA TO) provides training on European and international aviation safety regulations. Professionals needed to find, compare and book courses while on the move.
GlobalOrange developed native apps for iOS and Android. The challenge went beyond technology: an extensive range of courses and exams had to remain easy to navigate on a small screen.
The original case describes more than 100 courses across over ten locations worldwide. The apps brought searching, booking and payment together in one mobile experience.

A direct route to the right course
Users need to find relevant training quickly, then book and pay. Working with JAA TO and the interaction designer, we translated those tasks into clear navigation, search and booking functions.
Two native development teams worked in parallel on iOS and Android. The apps were connected to the existing backend in collaboration with its developer.
Clear even when you do not use it every day
People do not use a training app every day. The interface therefore needed to make sense immediately, without a long learning curve.
Users could set their preferred location and areas of interest, making a broad international catalogue more relevant to their own needs.
