Kamernet: a smooth transition and new mobile products
Moving forward after a stalled supplier relationship
Kamernet connects tenants and landlords. A good mobile experience mattered: users wanted to respond to rooms and contact others while on the move.
When development stalled with its existing IT supplier, Kamernet needed a partner that could take on development and management and provide the capacity for its next step.
GlobalOrange managed the transition in one month. Three parallel Scrum teams then delivered a native iOS app, a native Android app and a mobile website within three months.

First the handover, then further development
A new development partner needs to take over more than code. GlobalOrange coordinated knowledge transfer and took on development and management of the existing application.
After the transition, the team could start work on new functionality immediately. Alongside the website team, three Scrum teams worked in parallel on mobile channels.
Within the collaboration, GlobalOrange was the point of contact for application management and further development of the web and mobile products.

Starting with mobile
Many Kamernet users searched for accommodation on their phones. New functionality was therefore developed around the mobile experience first and subsequently extended to the web application.
This aligned product decisions with how tenants and landlords used the service, rather than simply adapting the existing website to a smaller screen.
