Statler BI financial planning software for hotels

Statler BI: financial planning software for hotels

From scattered spreadsheets to financial insight

Hotels used separate data sources and Excel files for budgets, forecasts and financial reporting. This made it difficult to build a complete picture and share information.

Statler wanted to bring that work together in one online product. GlobalOrange developed Statler BI: a responsive SaaS application in which hotels could create and manage budgets, forecasts and reports.

The solution combined a configurable setup for each hotel with a technical foundation that could accommodate additional usage.

Challenge

Bring fragmented financial data together and make it accessible to hotel organisations.

Approach

User-centred design, configurable SaaS software and a scalable service architecture.

Delivered

One online environment for budgets, forecasts and financial reporting, configurable for each hotel.

The workflow shapes the design

Financial planning in a hotel involves many data sources. The challenge was to keep that complexity from becoming a burden on the user.

We examined workflows and translated them into an interface for creating, sharing and managing financial information. This turned Statler’s domain expertise into a practical software product.

Available online, configured for each hotel

Statler BI was developed as a SaaS product. Users could log in through a browser without installing the application locally.

Each hotel could have its own structure. This configurability helped the software fit different organisations.

The service architecture allowed additional instances to be added as usage increased.

“GlobalOrange developed Statler BI as a cloud-based SaaS platform. The software runs as a service, so users can get up and running quickly. Hotel owners do not need to invest in software or hardware. They can log in to the Statler hotel budget planner online, anytime, anywhere, from any device.”
