Kick and his associate started Evidos in 2013, originally focused on digital signatures with more advanced verification than usual. The focus expanded to various industries such as real estate, education and bank loans.

 

Evidos wanted to launch an app as an addition to their services. This app was born out of a desire to create a tap-like approach to sending and mobile signing documents, especially for brokers, insurance agents and self-employed entrepreneurs on the go.

The need for external developers came in part because of the lack of internal capacity. Evidos chose GlobalOrange because of its unique combination of UX, technical expertise and product management and ability to create an app that users will truly love.

CHALLENGE
Evidos was looking for a partner who wasn’t just concerned with building a product. Also important was the in-house combination of UX, technical expertise and product management as well as thinking along in the development of the app itself.

APPROACH
The collaboration was comprehensive and went beyond technical development. The weekly sprints provided an energetic and efficient way to make progress. Special attention was paid to understanding the needs of the customers and end users. This approach resulted in a joint exploration of the concept and the development of a strategic vision.

RESULT
In the end, an app was delivered that was not only technically solid, but also aligned with customer needs. The app has increased efficiency internally and encouraged others at Evidos to use the product. There are about 800 transactions per week and, of course, maintaining active users remains crucial.

Sustainable growth and a new direction

Evidos engages in digital signing with additional verification. They offer this service for various sectors such as real estate, education and higher-risk transactions. By targeting specific groups of people, they have grown over the past 10 years in a manageable and sustainable way. Recently, Evidos was acquired by Entrust. Originally known for printers, they are now focusing on identity management in the cloud. This acquisition fits into their broader strategy in identity issuance and use.

As an addition to their services, Evidos wanted to create an app for easy document signing and identification. The app is a pay-as-you-go service.

After a preliminary phase and a design process with UX partner YouSir, development of the iOS and Android apps began, each with a specific roadmap. The team presented bi-weekly demos to stakeholders at Evidos. The biggest challenge was striving for simplicity in the workflow for drawing requests. In addition, creative solutions were needed due to limitations in the existing Evidos backend. In the end, the apps were successfully launched in the app stores.
